PEMBROKESHIRE COLLEGE

If you are interested in extending your creative practice and gaining a University Arts London qualification, then check out the art and design courses available at the amazing art department at Pembrokeshire College.

THERESA PATEMAN

www.theresapateman.co.uk

Dividing her time between Haverfordwest and London, and working as printmaker, tutor and member of the Printmakers Council (how does she do it?), Theresa has for many years shared her printmaking expertise through the delivery of free / affordable classes in the town. We hope to host Theresa’s next local classes, sign up to our newsletter at the bottom of the page and we’ll keep you informed.

TIM HUGHES

A recent addition to Haverfordwest’s artist community, we have welcomed Tim’s advice and printmaking expertise. Tim recently relocated here from Bristol after a career teaching art in the FE sector. He had an exhibition at Haverhub over the Christmas period of figurative and abstract works. Recent projects include a series of complex multi-block linocuts, printed using an Albion Press.

CAROLE KING • NANT DESIGNS

www.nantdesigns.co.uk

We’ve long admired Carole’s printmaking and bookmaking skills and love her repeat patterns. As soon as we have the space, we will be inviting her to run printmaking courses here at Popty, sign up to our newsletter to be the first to hear.

CHARLOTTE CORTAZZI and SUE KULLAI

www.charlottecortazzi.co.uk

Charlotte and Sue are lifelong friends who constantly remind us of the importance of staying analogue. Earlier this year we collaborated on a sketchbook for drawing birds as part of their Songlines beach art project. We are currently working on a book of poetry called Adventures on the Edge of the World – words by Sue Kullai, illustrations by Charlotte, print by Popty. A beautiful friendship!

MIKE CRUTCHLEY

www.mikecrutchley.uk

Mike is a mad scientist friend who looks very closely at our world using microscopes he has hand-built in his home garage. Check out this video showing his recent pics of everyday grasses from his intentionally ‘unkept’ garden. Mike’s mind-blowing work is currently on show at HaverHub. We are hoping to do a ‘planktonic’ project with him in the very near future.

PLENTY MORE FRIENDS OF POPTY PRESS TO COME …
